The workshop with Joel Mankey from Los Angeles and Rannoch Purcell from Taikozentrum Deutschland in Ulm is suitable for taiko-players experienced in naname-style.

What is the workshop about?

Raion repertoire + Ni-dan Skills
(Series of 1-3 workshops) - Intermediate/Advanced
(1) Naname Form + Ni-dan Basics
(2) Ni-dan Basics and Drills + Full Raion Piece
(3) Ni-dan Basics and Drills + Full Raion Piece + Extended Ending and Solos

This workshop series focuses on the NiDan style - a fun and challenging version of naname played on a pod two drums that you share with a partner! We will start with Naname basics, adapt them to the NiDan style (Workshop 1), and then apply these skills in learning “Raion” - a NiDan piece written by Joel Mankey (Workshop 2). Workshop 3 will focus on learning an extended performance version of Raion, complete with NiDan soloing!

The early bird price (until the end of july) is 110 € per person – register here please: lilo@iki-iki-taiko.de
